The Food and Drug Administration Department of Uttar Pradesh in an food quality inspection drive in Noida found several food products and ingredients adulterated and unsuitable for human consumption. Food and beverage samples, including products like maida, semolina, ghee, paneer, gram flour, oregano, kuttu atta, and turmeric, failed quality tests conducted between March and June, a recent report stated.
These samples, which had adulterated items, include products from well-known food chains. In response, the Food and Drug Administration Department is preparing to take strict action against the establishments responsible for adulterating food items and risking the health of consumers.
Assistant Commissioner of Food Sarvesh Mishra stated that when a sample fails the quality test, the establishment operators face legal action and fines. However, the shopkeepers whose samples have failed are given an opportunity to have their products tested again at a Central Government lab.
